Adventure Dates

An overnight adventure in either the Northbrook Summit Loop or Augie’s Loop Trails. On the first day we will hike/run to a bush camp area where we will camp for the night. The next day, completing the respective trail loop back to the car park areas.

Northbook Summit Loop overnight adventures

Start and finish at the Maiala Day Use Area. The adventure includes a 16.7km hike/run to the camp area, and approximately 8km return run back the following day.

Augie’s Loop Trail overnight adventures 

Start and finish at Jolly’s Lookout. This adventure includes a 10km hike/run to the camp area, and a 7km approximate run back the following day.

Limited transfers are available from Hamilton Brisbane, or enroute to Mt Nebo.

Who this adventure is for

Overnight Fast Packing Adventures are suitable for runners and hikers that have a reasonable level of fitness. If you are unsure, please reach out, as we are able to cater for all abilities.

  • Snacks to sustain you for the no of days of physical exercise of your adventure (e.g. muesli bars, trail mix, lollies)
  • Credit card or phone to pay for lunch and some dinner meals on 2-night adventures

Waiver, Terms & Conditions

Before signing up to this adventure please be sure to read through our adventure policy. You will be asked to complete a waiver and medical form before departure. All participants are to:

  • follow the instructions provided by Trail Trekkers and the Group Leader;
  • have an existing level of trail running experience and fitness;
  • be non-competitive (this is a guided introduction for people to try out fast pack running);
  • always run/hike with a buddy for safety and enjoyment;
  • slow down and walk past other walkers and wildlife, respecting other users in the area we are using;
  • alert other walkers when approaching, keep left for cyclists, and give way to horse riders on shared trails;
  • carry their own water, food, appropriate clothing (including thermals and rainwear), medications as required, basic first aid (snake bandage and emergency blanket) and mobile phone;
  • warm up and cool down (drills and stretches will be guided);
  • carry out all rubbish;
  • Follow bush toileting practices

Safety Information

Safety on our adventures is our number one priority. The following safety measures will be implemented by Trail Trekkers as part of this adventure:

  • Clear instructions will be provided before heading off, and ensure no runner gets left behind.
  • Running will be during daylight hours only.
  • The route may be modified for participants that are struggling, which may include going to the nearest campsite, and returning back to the start point rather than continue through the hike.
  • The Group Leader will have a mobile phone and satellite navigation device and know how to use and send location coordinates to emergency services if required.
  • All runners will have the Group Leaders’ mobile number, in case they need to make contact during the adventure.
  • Runners/hikers will be made aware of hazards while moving over the trail eg; low branch, trip hazard, wildlife, etc, and clarification for deaf and blind runners.
  • Regular drink and food breaks will be regularly provided, and Group Leaders will monitor participants for signs of fatigue, dehydration or heat stress..
  • Runners and hikers will be encouraged to run/hike with a buddy.
  • A full First Aid Kit will always be available in the Group Leader’s car with participants knowing how to access.
  • Rain events with 50mm or more rain will result in events being postponed or cancelled.
  • Planned burns in NPWS areas occur at times and we may need to modify routes if required, or reschedule events.
